The PWL-400 is a dual carriage heavy duty roll in roll out portal wheel lathe completely automated to reprofile freight car wheel sets. The machine can be equipped with various measuring solutions on machine or external to the machine for evaluating worn wheelsets. The machine utilizes a proven dual spindle drive system while clamping forces are generated via heavy duty hydraulic cylinders. An integral wheelset elevator system automatically raises the wheelset to the cutting area. Different wheelset diameters can be accommodated via semi automatic or fully automatic methods.
